History of Nepali Army Participation in the UN Peacekeeping

Nepal joined the United Nations in 1955 and the legacy of the Nepalese peacekeeping began from 12th June 1958 with the participation of 5 Military Observers in United Nations Observer Group in Lebanon (UNOGIL). Since then the Government of Nepal has been a regular troop contributor deploying in Africa, Europe, Middle East, South and South-East Asia and the Caribbean under UN umbrella. As of today Nepali Army’s Peacekeepers have participated in 43 different missions. The list of mission participated by Nepali Army is as shown below:
