Special Program Organized By Nepali Army On The Occasion Of UN Day

On the occasion of 76th founding day of the United Nations, the Nepali Army organized special program at the Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre, Panchkhal. With the gracious presence of the chief guest Honorable Minister of Defense Dr. MinendraRijal along with Secretaries of Nepal government, Former Chief of the Army Staff, Vice Chief of Army Staff, Inspector General of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Chief of National Investigation Department, Former Force Commanders, UN Experts, UNDP, Resident Representative, Mayor of Panchkhal Municipality, General Officers, Chief District Officer and Members of District Security Committee, Ambassadors, Defense Attaches of different Nations and media partners.

Director, Directorate of Peace Operation Nepali Army welcomed all the guest by his opening remarks.

At the event, the guests laid wreath and flowers at the Peace Memorial in honor of the peacekeepers who have been martyred in the establishment of world peace.

During the program the "Dag Hammarskjold Medal" awarded to Lt.Col. Late Kavindra Jung Thapa was handed over by his family to the Nepali Army and his family was awarded a certificate of appreciation and COAS commendation batch by the Nepali Army.

Likewise Honorable Chief Guest awarded a certificate of Appreciationto Major Bigyan Bista, on his remarkable effort in preventing the internal communal clash in South Sudan.

The program is concluded on behalf of COAS Gen Prabhuram Sharma, by the Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Bal Krishna Karki with “Thank You” Remarks.
