THE FIRST UNITED NATIONS MILITARY PEACEKEEPING- INTELLIGENCE COURSE CONCLUDED

The First United Nations Military Peacekeeping- Intelligence (MPKI) Course conducted at the Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre (BPOTC) concluded on 13 May 2022. This course was planned and conducted in coordination with the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI). There were total five Subject Matter Experts representing GPOI accompanied by Program Manger Mr. Lance Sells.

During the closing remarks, the Commandant of BPOTC Col Dil Bikram Subba emphasized on the diversified tasks of peacekeeping and the imposed threats where peacekeepers have a responsibility to contribute on carrying out resourceful, pragmatic and effective planning, based on actionable intelligence which will lead practical inputs in the commander's crucial decision-making process as well as Implementing those decisions in actual field for effective implementation of mission mandate. He also focused on the importance of the course for understanding peacekeeping-intelligence in order to provide knowledge and necessary skills to serve as capable staff officers in peacekeeping missions.

Total 20 Officers from Nepali Army, including two female officers successfully completed this two week long course (02 May to 13 May 2022).
