The Director of Peace Operations Brigadier Gen Shantosh Ballave Poudyal addressed the opening ceremony of S.N 4 Integrated Pre-Deployment Training (IPDT) at the Birendra Peace Operation Training Centre (BPOTC) on 17 May 2022. There are total 25 participants including 10 from Nepali Army,two from Ministry of Defense, two from Ministry of Home Affairs, one from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 5 each from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal. This one week long course is designed to develop a shared understanding, enhance cooperation among the government agencies on peace operation trainings and to enhance performance of Nepali peacekeepers in UN peace operations.

In his opening remarks, the Director emphasized on the importance of UN peace operation trainings for enhancing sensitivity to the complexities of the UN operational environment and understanding UN procedure from uniformed peacekeepers perspective. He also highlighted on the importance of developingshared understanding, knowledge, experience, expertise and best practices among the different stakeholders on issues related to UN peace operations.
