The Director of Peace Operations, Brigadier General Santosh Ballave Poudel addressed the opening ceremony of pre-deployment training of Bir Dal Battalion (UNMISS-FRB), High Readiness Company (UNMISS-HRC), Force HQ Support Unit (UNDOF), Level 1(+) Hospital (UNDOF), Mechanized Infantry Company (UNDOF) and Engineers Platoon (UNDOF) at the Birendra Peace Operation Training Centre (BPOTC) on 15 July 2022. There are total 1392 Participants in this course.

During his address, General Poudel emphasized on the importance of pre-deployment training in order to perform the mandated tasks for maintaining international peace and security under the UN flag. He also highlighted the threat and challenges for the peacekeepers in this present multidimensional peacekeeping environment and the importance for maintaining high standard of Professionalism and Discipline amongst the soldiers for their mental and physical well- being throughout the mission. The course will be conducted for 14 weeks as per the UN HQ training Policy and guidelines.
