On 17 August 2022, Birendra Peace Operations Training Center (BPOTC) commenced the S. No. 10 French language course involving 30 participants(17 officers, 5 JCO & 8 NCO) from different Pre Deployment Unit (PDT) who are going to be deployed in various UN Peace Operations Mission in near future.

During the opening remarks, commandant of the BPOTC Col Dil Bikarm Subba, highlighted the importance of French Language while conducting various UN peace operation tactical and administrative functions in Francophone countries. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Mr. Prabin Bikram Rana, Deputy Director and by his team from Alliance Francoise.

Birendra Peace Operation Training Centre is conducting this course since 2017 focused on developing French communication skills of the peacekeeper prior to their deployment in their Francophone mission area. The course is conducted in coordination with the Alliance Francoise institute of Kathmandu and it will be conducted till 27 September, 2022.
