The Director of Peace Operations, Brigadier General Santosh Ballave Poudel addressed the opening ceremony of pre-deployment training of Purano Gorakh Battalion (UNIFIL), Narasingh Dal Battalion (MONUSCO), Bhawani Box Battalion (MINUSCA), No. 26 Field Company (MONUSCO), Quick Reaction Force Company (MONUSCO) and Close Protection Unit (UNDOF) at the Birendra Peace Operation Training Centre (BPOTC) on 24 August 2022. There are total 2195 Participants in this course.

During his address, General Poudel emphasized on the importance of pre-deployment training in order to perform the mandated tasks for maintaining international peace and security under the UN flag. He also highlighted the threat and challenges for the peacekeepers in this present multidimensional peacekeeping environment andthe importance for maintaining high standard of Professionalism and Discipline amongst the soldiers for their mental and physical well- being throughout the mission. The course will be conducted for 14 weeks as per the UN HQ training Policy and guidelines.
