On 19th January 2023, the Commandant of Birendra Peace Operations Training Center Col Sudhir Pratap Singh formally graced the Closing Ceremony of Pre-deployment Training of Special Guard Unit (5th), United Nations Special Mission in Libya. A total of 230 Contingent members of the mission including the Officers, JCOs and all ranks of BPOTC were present in the ceremony.

The Pre-deployment Training of the Battalion was commenced on 20th Sep, 2022. The training was focused on enhancing the professionalism of the troops capable of operating in mission environment of Libya.

During his closing remarks, the Commandant highlighted the importance of training to the troops. He emphasized on the adherence of UN policy and guidelines by the troops at any time and to abide the UN Code of Conduct, Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, Protection of Civilians and Rules of Engagement.
