On 4th Nov 2019, Chief of General Staff (CGS) of Nepali Army Lieutenant General Sarad Kumar Giri visited Birendra Peace Operations Training Center(BPOTC) on the occasion of closing ceremony of Pre-Deployment Training of Shiva Dal  Battalion which is soon to be deployed in UNIFIL, Lebanon. Director General of Military Training and Doctrine (DGMT) Major General Shashi Chandra Bahadur Singh and Director, Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Brigadier General Hira Lal Joshi were amongst the guests in the closing ceremony.

CGS Lieutenant General Sarad Kumar Giri was updated about BPOTC by Colonel Manoj Baidawar, Commandant (BPOTC) and also was briefed by the Commanding Officer of Shiva Dal Battalion on the operational aspects and other UN cross cutting issues (POC, SEA & ROE). He has also inspected demonstrations of different operational activities to be conducted by Shiva Dal Battalion after deployment in UNIFIL, Lebanon.

During the visit, CGS Lieutenant General Sarad Kumar Giri addressed the troops and highlighted the peacekeeping efforts of Nepali Army in maintaining international peace and security under the UN flag.
